Once you have made your final decision on a property you would like to buy, you will pay a 3.000 euros holding deposit to your estate agent, which will take the property off the market for a period of 2 weeks. During these 2 weeks, your selected lawyer will have time to do the searches on the property to confirm the property is legal and there are no existing debts. Once all confirmed by your lawyer, you will proceed to signing a private contract, where you will pay 10% of the sales price. All paperwork will be handed to the local Notary and then you will proceed to the signing of the title deeds where you will then receive the keys to your new home in Spain.
